Part 26. Through the woods, over the hills and to the dragon’s heart

The way was long and hard, but the adventures are so — they lie in the depth of cold caves, in the dark of wood, deep on the bottom of the sea…

So, Kaija and Teller went North, back to the land where they came from, to the land where Kaija’s heart had been belonging to for all those years.
They were on the road four days and nights. She went ahead like a queen of all elves and dwarfs, of earth and skies. She walked noiseless like a nightcrawler, without any sound like wind playing in a field.
Her eyes watched through the darkest night like in a daytime and she could see every tiny thing and heard every noise of wind or the smallest creature.

Teller saw her figure before him. She walked carefully and confidently, the true one, the real one.
‘She is the Queen of that kingdom…’ — thought he deep inside where she couldn’t hear him. At least he hoped so. She heard but didn’t ask anything. Not now.
They should find the Moonpath before the tomorrow sun would set.

— How far is the Northern way? The one that’s leading through Devil’s Hills? — asked she closing her eyes to see the ancient map again.
— Right behind Oaken Oaths. You know that place…. the lake. — said Teller looking at the twisted path running West and South. — The Western one. I’ve been here long time ago, but I still remember every path leading there… back home. You should see this land. You will love it…
She turned to him and looked deep in his eyes. Kaija smiled at him kindly and softly.
He forgot this glance, the sight full of tenderness and dreamy wishes. He took her hand and embraced her tight. He missed her in his arms…

— Be always here, right by my side.  — whispered she into Teller’s ear.
