On an Angelwing

Deep in the dark
Our lives spark
High the way lies
Through the dark blue sky
We’re slowly walking
Enter midnight chill

Getting lost among the stars
We tried to heal still bleeding scars
Walking in the sky we flew so high
Every night I still wonder why

In cold dark mist
I’ve lost all this
The pride, the veil of innocence
Everything left in cruel silence

“Just feel me like I feel you
Dream me through childhood memories…
See me like I see you —
A barefoot boy with eyes full of wonder and awe;
Remember me like I remember you —
Innocent soul so lonely and lost
But so dear to my wounded heart.”

You are the dream, a midnight fantasy
Dearest kiss of memory
I feel I’m drowning in this swirl
Of sparkling stars above my head
White angelwing covering me
Coiling around my chest
