A Child Sleeping In Us

A petal fell down from the tree
Song of first dew of spring
When did we lose the feel of joy?
Where have all the wonders gone?

Lullabies of midnight story
Sweet touch of wonder and awe
When did it all cease?

Years made us blind
Careless beasts dead inside
Eternal winter of my mind
Wrote grey sceneries through the heart

Where is a dream, where is the awe?
Why are all the wonders gone?
Remember how it was when we were children
The feel when you ran in the field
A touch of a story, a flight of the kite

Where is the wonder, where is my home?
Why are all the dreams gone?
While my heart hasn’t turned to stone
I wish years will take me there
Where the sky is still blue and clear
Where the grass is still green
The dream I always wish it to be

Take me back to Dreamland
Where dreams are still awake
And the story writes a lullaby for a child sleeping in us
