Lakeshore

I wish I had a dream

Covering me deep, healing me dear
Flowing always near
I wish I had a tree
Leashing me from the wind
I wish I had an angel
Sheltering me with care and love
Another storyteller to caress my dream no more
Unleashed by one sight
Bound in the night
Midnight gloom, morning dew
Road leading me into pale blue
Underneath an old oak
As I already know
What I will find on this moonlit shore
Scars beneath the cleansing waters
Shedding still from the dark starlit sky
Hopeful sea bearing all your promises
Dark and empty luring lies
I wish I had a heart to break
And heal and break and heal
Again and again and again…
I wish I had a dream
To caress, to bear within
With neverending waiting
Unleashed by one sight
Bound in the night
Road leading me into pale blue
Cascading under an old oak
As I step closer I already know
Whose shadow I see on the lakeshore
