Don’t give me this cross to bear
Tell me where the truth lies
In midnight embrace of a dream
I walked through the emptiness
The world seemed gone
But the one with eyes of the night
Shadow creature behind
A wolf followed me
Came so close
I touched him calm, had no fear
Caressed his fur, laid him to rest
He slept on my kneels sharing the dreams
I still can see
No trust, no care
Don’t give me this cross to bear
My love I shared
Into the fallen night
He licked my wounds
A cure of time in quivering oceans
Warmed my heart
Sheltering from the cold
I saw in his eyes a spark of awe
Flowing in me still
Coiling deep in my core
No trust, no care
Show me pale relics within
No love, no hope
Let me feel your heartbeat
For a moment of life
Instead of eternity in dark
Give me a dream to believe
A dream of night
Dark promise of light he came to me
Caressed my dream till dawn to rest
I saw his heart, deep trust in eyes
But never needed anything he had
No trust, no care
Show me pale relics within
No love, no hope
Let me feel your heartbeat
For a moment of life
Instead of eternity in dark
Give me a dream to believe
