Before I Wake Up

Empty room, curtains fallen, seadeep nights cascading on
Childish sleep as the shadows paint the world

Shores neverseen, white Decembers, dances on the roof
Dear eyes sharing the moon, old tales till the dawn, sweet friend’s embrace
Before I wake up bring me to real
Where wonders become true
Dreams flow in river’s waves
Drawing in heart winterborn
Drowning for the stars withered in dawn

Before I grow old redeem me into childhood dream
Blue bayous of youth
Waves cascading upon years fading in eyes
Of horizon ash-grey line
Dream me to a hideaway of springbloom
Where wanderers find truth

Waves calling to me through a child’s dream

Painting autumn eyes with midwinter white

Snowflakes dance on midnight’s blue wings

Lovesongs unsung sent through the dark
To touch a heart longing still for cold tides
All the wonders painted on an old child’s kite
