As I Sing You A Song

I light a candle and close the door
Singing all nightmares away to go
The song will sleep you till dawn
Escaping from fears forlorn

Sleep, dear, sleep through the tale
As I sing you a song of a nightingale

The world rests beyond seabed eye
On the bossom of long-dreamed demise
Where life will rise from the ashes of time
Reviving a dream on the wings pure white

Sleep, dear, sleep through the tale
As I sing you a song of a nightingale

I walk through your dream
Caress it with awe
In fear to awaken your sleep

Drawing in the foot of your bed
I sing you a tale till dawn
A story too old to be true
But verses so pure
I wrote down for you

Sleep, dear, walk through the tale
Watch the rivers and ponds
Seas and clouds
Old woods spreading below
Sleep, dear, sleep through the day
Playing you a lullaby of a nightingale

Sleep, dear, sleep through the tale
As I sing you a song of a nightingale
