Midnight Prayer

The heart longs for life
As flowers dream of spring time
Embraced by the light he followed the dark
Oh Christ, let him see the pure of his heart

Oh Christ, I pray
For a dream I won’t name
For a soul of a child
The one of a purest kind

Save a soul for love of me
In time of need
In time of calm
Save his soul from all the harm

From greed and lust
From fame of dust
From cold and pain
From lovelorn in vain
Save his heart from all the suffering

Forever I pray
For the one I won’t say
To make his grief just flow away
To see again his eyes shining with kind
Relief of time, a blessed pure heart
All thoughts from the head
To write a hope instead

I pray let him see truth
Feel it with heart
Every wave in still midnight blue
Poet’s soul of innocent white

Oh Christ, save him
From pain and evil
My only love — the first, the last
My only one
Save him from harm
My only heart
My dream so sweet will be his guide
Oh Christ, I pray for him to feel my love…

“My angel, my love, bright light of my life…
You guide me still through the dark to innocence drawn within my heart,
Pure soul light that belongs to you, my dearest part…”
