Unbound The Shadows

Once upon a time
In deep sanctuary of heavenly high
Lived a maiden of starlit tides

She sang the lullabies to the trees
Bathing in sunlight she drew the shadows beneath
Painting the ancient realm with pure-hearted dreams

Dwelling beyond the woods
Her heart belonged to the truth

I see the dreams unleashed high
Touching the skies of silent midnight
I hear the whisper of starlight
Flowing down once a year from autumn sky

Unbound the shadows
Lying still on your face
Show me that mirror of innocence
Hiding still the grace
Of the truth gazing beneath
The starlit memory

I took off the mask unveiling your scars
Never healed, but ever hidden from the world’s eyes
Though I tried to wash them away with first dew of sunrise

Belonging still to the memory’s kiss I dwell still in silent gloom
Darkening still on the face kissed by eternal youth

Before sundown falls this fantasy realm
Will dwell real
Beyond the sorrows of the past it will dream
Shadowing still in deepest memory

Once upon a time
I will dive into the dreamless tides
Of newborn life written well by pure starlight
Dwelling still in your silver blue eyes
