Wounded Once

I linger to the shadows of the heart
Once pure and filled with light
I thought it was forever, the last endeavour
Burning with tremendous flame
I’ll never forget
And will never forgive

No promises to be written
No oaths to be given

Life paths went along, never meant to cross
That night was a mistake for both of us
As the door closed behind you I realized
All the innocence ended where it started

No heart to forgive that pain
No kindness to understand and accept
That betrayal you left for me like a farewell gift

Damaged and rotten
Your soul still burns
Trying to survive while dying
Slowly turning to ashes in ages

I don’t need any explanations from you
Awaiting for no apologies
As deceiving as your words of love
Leave them untold, keep them for another fool

You will never be healed being wounded once
No scar, no inner drama, no heart burnt to dust
You are but the slave of your own darkest lust
