Way Back Home

Farewell the dales, dear meadows
The hills of green and mountains so high
Goodbye the river fast and lake’s calm waters

The forests and streams
Leaving all behind
I’m running for an adventure

Over the mountains high, across the lakes deep
Through the forests dark, into the black reel
To face the demons of the past
Reclaim the homeland once

I wander through the storms
Rain and snow
Dreaming the fantasy real
Over the frozen mountaintops
And a woodland realm
Painted all with red and gold
I’m going now home

Above the horizon the final day rises
Sheltering still us from the dark
Sparkling with the last fight in eyes
I have no fear now in my heart

Searching for the one ever lost treasure
Tearing me apart with sharp claws of time
It took me into the last lifetime adventure

Rising now from ashes cold
I hear the song of elven harps
Belonging still with all my heart
I wander through the ice and stone
To reclaim my once lost home

Once upon a time I will find the way
To dress midnight in dawn
I will paint the moonlit shore with sundown ray
Once when I come back home
