The meadows so far
The forest of green
All those dales of warmth so dear to my heart
Where is it all now?
Are those roses still there?
In sweet scent of their bloom
I used to dream on the grass
All my past I found in northern dew
All my love to the South lives still within
Dwelling in me until the last fallen leaf
I close my eyes and see
The river so fast
The paths leading me once into the woods
I close my eyes and feel
The wind playing in my hair
Calling silently my name
Where is it all gone?
Why is it all wrapped in white?
The ground, the mill, the air
You and me like in pale veil
Everything is white, it’s all snow-white
It left behind
The gates strange still to me
But is this truly real
That I have no feel?
It’s all far, left over behind
Like a nightmare I tried to forget
But why then heart longs deeply to those lands
To that sky of grey
To that snow-white hell
Which turns to paradise at once in your hands
I’m going back home
To see you again
My heart won’t ever forgive me
If I stay away from that soul
I close my eyes and see
The eyes looking back at me
Once and forever from now and till the end of eternity
