Lands So Far

Far away over the mist of dawn
Where tomorrow will rise
Shines the first star reflecting still in your eyes

The song flows into the blue
Silent tune of the wind and morning dew
Made me lose my way
Taking me to the cliffs and bays
Green fields and moorlands
Hiding beyond the mountains high

I see the waves
Hear them call
I see the skies
Feel them fall

Where are you now, my lost star?
Why are you so far?

Pale dreams I’ve shared
Words turned now to shadow
Lifetime was never enough to complete
The damaged heart of me
As if I knew you would be mine
Walking with me in dwelling starlight

Hands catching me on the edge
Eyes soothing my pain
Lips healing the scars as deep as time

In the meadow we walk
Sheltered still by the stars
And nothing else matters while you talk
In silence I hear the voice of your heart

On the far shores
Beyond the lands so far
I see the new life is born
