Road Home

Roads go on
Taking far from home

Through mountains high
And seas so deep
Far over the meads and streams
I long for another ride

Ahead runs the path
Bringing me away from home
Farther it flows
To the mountain-side

A lonely path through the dawn
Will once take me back home

Far above the sky
Wind whispers your name
Through the midnight’s sight
Singing old songs through the heart
Until the pain will fade away

I will wait for you on that shore
Reflection on waves withers at dawn

Writing with white a take upon winter bound
As far as I go through lost lands to reach the mountain-side
Lonely home awaiting afar

When the first fire of autumn will burn
Above skies dim and cold
Once with last light of sunset upon the door
With rivers of silver and gold
One day I will return

Beyond a dream of sundown and dawn
I long for this long-forsaken home

Through times and tides
I go following the dawn
Dreams dwelling in midnight eyes
Of far road
Leading me back home

Beyond a dream of sundown and dawn
I long for this long-forsaken home
