Long Forgotten Tale

Frosts of winter will take the lake
Winds of time desolate old paths
But memory still will walk awake
Across one lost wandering heart

A moment unwithered dwells still far above
Spoken words of untold love

You know all those tales
You walked all those paths
I saw all those tears
And heard all those cries

Through memories deep I see your face
Smiling once back at me
And heart thrills in mist of long gone days

I know there is no return to that point
And no cure to heal those wounds
But I feel I will hear once more
Your knock at my door

Before the end of day
The eagles fly free
Upon white shore far beyond the end of this way
I see again a dream
Lost paths through long-forgotten tale

Acorn keeps a memory still
Caressing it through whole life far across the hill
As I see you waiting for me
One the other side of calm blue sea

I know we will meet again
And tears will wash away the pain
While love still lives in me
In this life or another but I feel
You will find me one day…

As I see your face smiling back at me
With all love and kindness ever seen
