Stranger

A wandering knight came once to my door
He knocked twice and waited before
I opened and let him in

Black hair cascading with dark waves
Eyes full of sky-blue serenity of past days
Smile makes dawn rise and voice tells all the tales
Of far far lands

A warrior he was
Of his own doom
Fate smiled at him giving him course
Across waters deep and blue

You told that the road calls
You said that this is only a dream
That you cannot stay with me
At dawn you shall leave my home

Oh, dear stranger
Stay with me
Forever and ever

Be my guest, silent wanderer
I know if you go you’d never return
Stay with me forever

I grabbed his hand and cried on his shoulder
While the sleep took me silently in its deep embrace
I wept through my dream shivering, but his whisper
Told me to rest promising to come back once

Of, stranger
Stay forever
None will heal my wounds
But you

None will do, but you

Oh, night guest stay
Braid starlight into my hair
Dry all tears away
And stay with me forever

Blue eyes look at me as dreams walk awake
And I lose myself in reality’s mirror
There is nothing but love I can give for you to take
