Tale Or Song

Warmth withered at dawn
As a dream drowned in midnight sky
Fire in hearth is gone

Night coils around my soul
And winds weep in the dark
Tell me the pain will never return

Shadows are dancing around
And fires weep in the darkness
You know this is my bound
But still try to save me from myself

Shadows whisper my name
And I follow
Paths lead me astray
As I fall
Shadows sing with voices of sirens
Darkness lures me now

And I fall drowning in blue so deep
As winds howl and weep
And a memory is gone with one last dream

I will sing for you before I go
Heart aches because it never was real
A tale was but a song
Nothing but a silent midnight dream

I wish to find you one day
But your soul imprisoned in old pages
Far, far away
For long, long ages

A tale was but a song, wasn’t it?
Or are you here real?

Write this tale real, tell it through long-faded pages
Make it come true, be my light until the end of times
Through all pain and lonesome years I still believe in miracles
