The Same Long Road

Beyond the clouds golden sun hides
Shining above bloodred horizon
Setting last ray across a withering day
My heart with a fantasy dream

Lost under the stars I wander alone
And silver moon rises on velvet blue
Where dream walks all real in midnight realm
Beneath the paths leading us home

I know you must away at dawn
So let me be yours until pale morn
Apart us forever

One night to tell a story
All ages through a song
One verse to make heart dwell
Through all the way to bitter farewell
Years beyond the dream untold
To hold a hand of memory

You must away at dawn
Before you go just let me know
So I could hide all tears I’ve cried

Before you go let me know
The path you take
So I could follow the same long road
To never let this dream to fade

At dawn you are gone
No farewell, no song
Tears never flow

You are gone
But I’m not alone
As we both walk the same long road
