Fire In The Woods

Winds take my song away
Far away
To the lands lost over the edge of fate
Where night is late
And dawn is all silver and gold

Over the hill and under the hill my path has led
Back to the dreams sparkling brighter than stars
So far above the sky of purple and red…

Silver moon glows on newborn leaves
Dew sparkles in white beams
Awe is closer than pale real
Magic dwells in the air and I close my eyes to see
Stars reflecting deep within
Eyes colour of all the storms, deeper than the sea

Over the hill and under the hill my path has led
Back to the dreams sparkling brighter than stars
So far above the sky of purple and red…

Through the gates beyond midnight skies
An arch between oaks and elms to reach that little spark
To vanish in woods dark
Running along the path through the waning moon’s rays
Following one of thousands ways
To catch the light of stars before the night dies

Back to the realm
Where woods are still green and bright
Where fires are high
And real turns to a dream

Back to the realm
Of starlight and whisper of leaves
Where sweet-voiced bird still sings
Of last night dream

Over the hill and under the hill my path has led
Back to the dreams sparkling brighter than stars
So far above the sky of purple and red
Turning to ashes in the fire of your eyes

Flaming ice on the shore where winter meets spring
Under midnight darkness of lustful oaths and innocent dreams
Where real turns into a fantasy, withering awe, but still so deep
