Memory

Northern winds blow
Through years passed in cold and sorrow
In dreams in vain, in hope’s ever glow
For life we fought
Until the end of pale tomorrow
Unseen, unknown

In dreams we saw
Great halls hewn deep in stone
Many-pillared caverns beyond
The days of truth untold

We live for dreams we’ll never see
Or world is kind
We paint the stars upon sky rim
And let it flow away with wine
We dream and hope where left no light to keep

For life we fight
For love we die
In time of need
Lost age of tides pure white
Remember me

You know there is no rainbow beyond the story
But kiss of time upon dear memory

Now let me dream
Beyond rain cold
And mirrors deep
Just let me sleep
In time of awe
Beyond the pain
Beyond all sorrow
Let me live
A dream I borrow
And love I gain
From all lost tales
