Silmarils

One by one they fall
Great children doomed by fate of oath

Seven destinies entwined by flaming oath
After their father’s fall
Three stones of pure glow
Brighter than daylight they were
Bringing dark wrath of wars to fair lands

Three precious gems
Of reviving pure light
Untouched by darkness
Never spoiled by venom
Nor defiled by loath
They shine upon the great world

But fire in his heart was too great
And greed was too fierce to forget
Evil doubts within

Three glowing stones
Undarkened by wrath

Now they glow
In the crown of the foe
And heart is eaten by loath

Ages of endless wars
Became great cost of all his dreams
Kingdoms sink in dragonfire and blood
Unnumbered tears and all fallen realms

One by one they fall
From arrow and flame
Great children of their doomed fate
Doom craved them all
Oath took them in the end

But precious gems were lost to be hidden still
One in the air above the sky rim
Second in earth’s deepest caverns underneath
Third in blue waves of the sea

Long ages to forget and forgive
All sorrows and grief
Beyond sacral dreams of precious Silmarils
