Melkor

Alone in his own design
He dwells
Devoted to his own sight
He spells
Sweet shadows of his heart

Searching for fires in the darkest void
Failed, ashamed in the end
If they all saw, if they cared
You wished to create and now there is only one road

Long ages of loneliness
Lost in darkness
You, lord of eternal night and cold

Upon the dawn of the world
Desire to create was too great
But did they care
Did they see it within your flaming soul

Cast away your dreams, tear your core
Let them destroy all you loved so

Caught and chained, before those who are right
You’re put on your kneels
Shame is born out of their purifying light
And your rage burns with tears

The world you see is dark and cold
Different from their gardens of bloom
Your kingdom dwells in mountains’ core
Veiled by smoke and gloom

Heart of darkness will never gain mercy from the one of light
Because they see you all wrong and you see they’re all right

Soul of ice desired for heart of flames
Both lost in bittersweet waves
He would serve you well until the end of days

The one who will see what burns within
Loyal and patient, winged by the same dream
Both of you are but the same eternity’s sin

Heart of light turned to darkness seeking the hope
Burning with desire to create and give it will long for its true soul
