Growing Up

Close your eyes
What do you see?
Do you see the stars?
Can you hear the song of memory
That flows through the heart
Upon the forgotten tide

One love within tender petal
Innocent beauty, she is the one
But so proud and cold
As if made of shiny gold

How long ago it was
Memory withers
Where the shadow grows
And heart never hears
The song of long gone time
When you were just a child

Imaginary world was real
More than reality’s bound
Scenery untold in a dream
Was right here, before your eyes

The fox was near
Forever by my side
One truest heart
In joy and despair

Sunset blooms now again
Upon this silent world
Awakening sweet melancholy
Deep in me
As the years of pain are cold
Ever frozen beyond
For a newborn day

Last rays of day take us again to the end
Where we find another story to tell
Do you also look at sundown when you’re sad?

Close your eyes
What do you see?
Can you still see the stars?
Can you hear the song of the wind
That flows through the heart
With a memory withered in time?
