Forgiveness

Revenge is empty
It brings no relief
The lost ones again won’t live
Won’t walk by after a murderer’s death
Revenge won’t soothe the pain
So there is only one way
To forgive

In blind oblivion a figure came
Silhouette embraced by light
He draws closer step by step
And drops on his knees, a smile
On his lips comforts the soul in flames

Silent whisper comes to mind
It sounds like so far
From the depths of the sea
He speaks calmly “Forgive me, too…
I brought you pain in hatred pure.
I thought you deserved it.
Forgive me for it all…
I was insane, it was the other one,
Dark part of soul.
It devoured me and tamed my mind.
Forgive me for I’ve lost control..”
And the shadow’s gone.

Pure light embraced them both
Upon the altar of darkness they lied
Bare in their souls
Hearts beat without rage and pain deep inside
Their hatred died.
