Believe Me

Strings of harp sing high in dwelling midnight
Calling back into the wild
To see the fires of old days far gone
Long gone in waves of time

Silently years passed by
Wherever they go days are gone
With a faded lullaby
With a silent dawn
Childhood is slowly withering
Beyond the corner of the real

The child within is never gone
Playing forever deep in our soul
Singing the verses and unsung chords
As we live and dream of fantasy worlds

Tales lead us back
Into a dreamland
Where everything was real and true
Stories were written in the dew
And all the dreams quivered in awe

Silently years dwell in a moment of time
Singing us back to the start
To that starlit night
When we believed still and were young

Last summer feels like yesterday within
I close my eyes and see
That velvet night
That sky full of stars
And dear soul entwined with mine
Whole universe in beloved eyes
I wish you believed me
