Memory

Forget your memory
As it wasn’t real
Like the story you’ve read once
Like the day you’ve lived
Through the shimmering light of the stars
Forget your memory
If it was just a dream

Once you told me that it couldn’t be real
See now how I fly after that fall
You called me but a dream
So watch now my flowing away into the dawn

Forget your memory
It was never real
As you’ve betrayed it so long ago
Even before it could come to live
Forget your memory
It couldn’t be real
As I’m not the same as it was before

Verses flow to the highest veil of the stars
To the blessed lands far beyond the Great Sea
To the real memory sung with the world once
To the shore without darkness, land of eternal spring
Where everything was pure and holy
When the darkest memory was healed

A song for a memory
Ever dwelling within
In you, in me, in the world revived through our singing
A touch of melody
Will dwell and heal
Until the last chord falls to silence forever…
