The Past

You know we all have our past
The burden lying on our shoulders
Sometimes it’s hidden
Sometimes it’s all upon the surface
It’s never forbidden
To hide it within

When you feel like walking on the edge
When you feel like falling down
From this high
Form your own tower you’ve been building so long
You are finally done, you give in the pain
Look down
There is no end

You have the past, so do I
Close your eyes and I will open mine
Open your heart, here I am
All torn here for you
All divine, unforgiven
All broken for truth

You see your past
And don’t want to look at mine
Why? Fears?
I have none
Thousand and one and one and one
But still your fears are more

Hatred, despair, pain
I know none, of course
Too many roads and still there is no way
Despair, pain, loneliness
I know none, of course

You know it all and so do I
So open your eyes for the first time
We all do have the past
