Beyond Sundown

Sweet memories written in old diaries
They are all gone
One by one they flow into nothingness
Before pale dawn

Sunrise above the golden field
Whisper of the wind in green grass
Silent ticking of the clock, daydream
Bright eyes gazing at the stars

All those years have passed by
Into endless night
With silent whisper of the wind
With weeping song of violin
Strings are calling still
To the resting feeling within

Do you hear that voice inside?
Whisper of a child
With awe in deep blue eyes
And innocent smile so bright

Awe of the world resting beyond
Still silent before the dawn
Moment or two and it’s gone
Taking with it this score
Ever innocent core

Snow turns into blossom
Like spring once turns into autumn
Even May could come in December
Though nothing is forever

Before falling asleep
Remember never faded days of joy so warm
To go back there in a dream
To meet again the dawn

Ever gone pale memory
Of sundown by the river
Gentle touch of sweet melancholy
That has never been deeper
