The Ice

Silent sounds of piano break the night still
Verses drown deep within
Uncovering the core, bare soul

Midnight hides silver tears
They should dwell only in a flow of symphony
Among the shadowy chords

Heartbeating rhythm
Desperate melody dwelling within
Years and ages of loneliness in a crowd
Though nobody sees
No one wants to see the soul
Beyond a smile of the star so bright
Those tears of agony and pain falling every night

No one had to know
No one should know
That frozen soul
For better or worse
No one should ever find the course
But once…
One dance broke the ice
