Heartkeeper

Memory’s sweet kiss
You’re just a wild guess
Blind shot in the dark
Gentle touch for a bleeding heart

Barely had ‘happily ever after’
Just an endless disaster
My ten years of bad luck are about to end
So I can feel and believe and trust again

What did you say?
I can have all this comfort
For which I still pray
For it and this final resort

Let me dream, let me sing
Forgive me all my wishes and past sins
I wish I could tell you more than this

Let me speak, let me drink
From your lips before we think
Let me be who I am, don’t be too strict
Make me crave for more as I’m an addict

Walking in the shadows
I long for all those hopes
I still keep within
Like this precious dream

Don’t judge me for all that lives in me
Dwelling deep in this sea
I write and live in
Let me just be who I used to be
A dreamer, a sinner
A longing heartkeeper
