The Promise I Once Dared To Give

Silent night still calling me
For a dawn of dreams so real
Child’s naive heart still keeps a feel
The promise I once dared to give

Step by step behind the door
Silent wind to feel the cold
Run away and follow me

Deep in the past of midwinter snow
Dreams keep calling for a hope
Nevergone for the moments of love
Everwritten in the heart, I know

Flute and strings of guitar
Calling me, tearing my heart
For a silent night to dream again

Fourteen days and pale dawn
Fourteen nights and touch of morn
Sweet taste of wind from the north
Seductive eyes, embrace so warm

Silent night still calling me
For a dawn of dreams so real
Child’s naive heart still keeps a feel
The promise I once dared to give

Poet’s lines to tell the untold
Dreamer’s hand to help and hold
Silent word to keep from cold
Forgotten song forlorn and old

Silent night still calling me
For a dawn of dreams so real
Child’s naive heart still keeps a feel
The promise I once dared to give
